WHAT KINDS OF FLIGHT SCHOOLS ARE THERE?

For those who pursue a career in aviation, vigorous education and training is a necessity. The most common avenue that students take is training through a 4 year university flight school (Part 141) as a vehicle towards their professional flight career. Gaining an education through a part 141 is indeed a proven and sure-fire way to get hired by the airlines as quickly as possible after graduation.

However, the first step to the captain’s seat is the same, it begins with a private pilot certificate.

While many aspiring airline careers begin at a four year (Part 141) school, the first step, the private pilot certificate, does not have to be obtained at a four year university. These universities accept students into their program having already obtained their PPL. A student can first attend an independent flight school (Part 61) to obtain a PPL before committing to four years of schooling. The largest benefit to training at a Part 61 is the lowered cost and great flexibility, allowing even high school students to train at their own pace and at a much cheaper cost compared to a Part 141. Another huge benefit to first attending a Part 61 is that students will enter a Part 141 a step ahead of their peers already having a PPL and practical flight experience.

Aviation Training will be one of your largest investments. It costs a LOT of money to get your ratings, especially if you go to a university. I currently attend Liberty University pursuing a major in aviation, and my aviation lab fees are ridiculously expensive. With that said, I'm so glad I got my Private Pilot Certificate through SimplyFLY first. Getting your Private Pilot Certificate through a local flight school before going to a university will save you thousands of dollars in your training. It will also put you further ahead in your training at the university, which will allow you to get your other ratings quicker and graduate faster. I highly recommend getting your Private Pilot Certificate before going to college. It saved me so much time and money, and it allowed me to get further ahead of my classmates when I became enrolled in Liberty’s flight school.

I earned my Private Pilot Certificate with SimplyFLY. I am currently a senior in high school and I intend on attending Lewis University and eventually flying for a major airline. SimplyFLY has helped me save thousands and will earn me college credit hours, and the training is overall a great and wholesome experience. The Remos is a blast to fly, the instructors are knowledgeable, and they always make sure you are flying your best and being safe.
